TryTestimonials is for small businesses, coaches and freelancers who want written testimonials on their website without learning a marketing tool. It's text only, on purpose.

The short version

Choose Senja if…

you want a full social proof toolkit: text and video testimonials, imports from many social and review sites, unlimited widgets even on the free plan, AI analysis, case studies and video clips for social media. It has the most features of the tools we compare.

Senja figures are from Senja's pricing page on 13 October 2026. Prices are in USD before tax, billed monthly unless stated, and can change, so check their site before you decide. Ours are on our pricing page.

What Senja offers that we don't

  • Video testimonials. Senja collects video as well as text, and can cut video testimonials into clips for social posts. TryTestimonials only collects text.
  • Unlimited widgets, even on Free. Senja's free plan includes unlimited widgets and Walls of Love, with over 20 templates. Our free plan has 1 wall in a grid layout.
  • Imports from other platforms. Senja imports testimonials from social media and review sites, and paid plans sync them automatically. TryTestimonials has no imports. You add the ones you already have by hand.
  • Many more tools. Senja adds AI analysis of your testimonials, case studies, thank-you gifts, widget analytics, team seats, Zapier, an API and translation. TryTestimonials deliberately does much less.

Where TryTestimonials is better

  • A lower price. Pro is $19 a month, $10 less than Senja's Starter plan. Or pay $49 once for Lifetime (first 30 buyers), less than two months of Starter.
  • New testimonials keep appearing on Free. Both free plans show 15. On ours, each new testimonial you approve appears and the oldest drops off the widget. On Senja's free plan, testimonials over the limit are hidden until you upgrade.
  • Written testimonials, done well. Because TryTestimonials only does written testimonials, the customer's side is one short form on their phone: three prompts, a box and a send button, with no camera, microphone or account. The prompts ask about the problem, the experience and the result, so you get specific quotes that visitors can skim in seconds and believe.
  • Less to learn for you. There are three steps: send a link, approve what comes back, paste two lines into your site. You get ready-made messages to send, a printable QR code, and step-by-step guides for WordPress, Wix, Squarespace, Shopify, Webflow, Framer and Carrd. It's built for owners who don't want to learn a marketing tool.
  • Private and light. The widget sets no cookies, doesn't track the people who see it, and loads no web fonts or images, so it won't slow your pages down. Customers' IP addresses are only ever stored as a one-way hash, to stop spam.
  • A person answers your email. Write to george@trytestimonials.com and George Ryder, who builds TryTestimonials, replies. There's no ticket queue or chatbot in the way.

Questions

Can I bring my testimonials over from Senja?

There's no automatic import. You can add testimonials you already have by hand, as long as the customer agreed to them being shared: up to 5 on the free plan, and as many as you like on Pro. They go straight onto your wall, marked “Added by you” in your inbox.

Why doesn't TryTestimonials do video?

Because we think a good written testimonial does the job better for most small businesses. It takes your customer a minute on their phone, where filming themselves takes nerve and retakes. Visitors can skim it in seconds, and a quote that names a real problem and result is easy to believe, while some visitors are wary of polished videos now that actors can be hired to record them. Leaving video out also keeps your widget tiny, so your pages stay fast. If video matters most to you, Senja is a good choice.

Do I need a card to start?

No. Sign in with Google and you're on the free plan, for as long as you like. Upgrade only if you need more.

Senja is a trademark of its owner. TryTestimonials isn't affiliated with or endorsed by Senja. We've tried to be fair: if anything here is wrong or out of date, email george@trytestimonials.com and we'll correct it.
