How to add testimonials to Carrd
Updated · 4 min read · By George Ryder
Carrd is built for one-page sites, which makes testimonials even more important: there's no About page to win people over. You can type testimonials into text elements, or add a testimonial widget with an Embed element. This guide covers both, and the Carrd plan you need for embeds.
Option 1: text elements
Add a Container element where the testimonials should go.
Set it to columns if you want two or three testimonials side by side. Carrd stacks columns on phones.
Inside each column, add a Text element for the quote and another for the name and role.
Style one, then duplicate it for the others so they match.
Publish and check on your phone.
It's simple, but each new testimonial means editing and republishing, and you need to keep track of who agreed to be quoted.
Option 2: a testimonial widget in an Embed element
A testimonial widget is a short snippet from a testimonial tool. You add it once, and new testimonials appear as you approve them, with no more Carrd edits. A typical snippet looks like this:
<script async src="https://trytestimonials.com/widget.js"></script>
<div class="tc-wall" data-wall="your-wall-code"></div>
Copy the snippet from your testimonial tool.
In the Carrd editor, click + (Add Element) and choose Embed.
Set the Type to Code and the Style to Inline.
Inline places the testimonials in the page where the element sits.
Paste the snippet into the Code box.
Move the element to where you want it, then Publish.
The editor shows a placeholder; the testimonials appear on the published site.

If it doesn't appear
- Your plan doesn't include embeds. Upgrade to Pro Standard or higher.
- The Style is set to Hidden. Hidden is for code that loads in the background. Use Inline.
- You're checking in the editor. Publish and look at the live site.
Where to put them on a one-page site
Place testimonials straight after you explain what you offer, and again just before your sign-up form or button. That second spot catches people at the moment they're deciding.

Questions
Can I add testimonials to Carrd for free?
Yes, by typing them into text elements. Embedding a widget needs a Carrd plan that includes the Embed element (Pro Standard or higher).
Will testimonials make my Carrd page slow?
Text elements add almost nothing. For a widget, choose a small script that loads with async, so the rest of your page isn't held up.
